Design and implement randomised controlled trials examining how loan restructuring, driving behavioural incentives, and shock-smoothing mechanisms shape performance among South Africa’s 250,000+ minibus taxi operators.

With Prof. Martine Mariotti: digitised archival government statistical and annual reports for longitudinal economic analysis.

Thesis: Growth, Productivity and Labour Misallocation: Apartheid South Africa. Examined how spatial segregation, labour discrimination, and railway infrastructure shaped long-run manufacturing productivity using quasi-experimental design, general equilibrium modelling, and growth accounting.

Awarded on full scholarship. Research in empirical trade and development economics.
